Pineapples, Ladyboys and Ocean Dreams

Three amazing things about this gorgeous amazing place called Thailand. The pineapples are like yellowish green sugary ovals of loving that just taste like no other fruit I have ever tasted in my life and Al totally agrees. You can actually smell them from our hostel room, as we are staying above an organic fruit stall and every morning we go down and get one whole pineapple cut into pieces to share before we start our day and it goes down a right treat. They almost have a coconut flavour to them and the flesh is so golden...it cannot be matched. Don't be swayed to get the oranges...they are dire, but Alex wouldn't know, as selfish Mel ate them both...well just one, as the first one was so terrible, er go I saved her from the devastating flavour! That's gratitude for you! Just a friendly tip! Another feature that makes this place so fantastic is all the lady boys that live everywhere. There are so many and they look amazing. Some are in cabaret shows and those are a special treat...some of them look more feminine than I do...they are so petite and tiny and small boned. I always love how a man can be smaller and more beautiful than myself...really chaps my hyde! What we love the most about the lady boys is how they are just treated like everyone else and it is "normal" and usual to see them everywhere...walking down the street, working in the shop, just being...unlike in America and London where they are freaks and gawked at and mistreated. Such a shame, as they are so beautiful and lovely...we adore them and have a great time meeting them and getting to know them and even a greater time seeing how they are just left to live like every other person and that is as it should be. Ocean dreams...this is just about the sea really and how clear and blue/green it is here in Thailand. We have never seen such beauty in beaches around the world as we have here and this is what motivated us to break through our fears to take a scuba course and it has made such an impact. The smell of the sea is so fresh and crisp and the fish literally swim with you touch you and it is like nothing we have ever experienced. Today was our first scuba lesson and we have two more...so much has happened and so much to take in and process, but there are stories there, as there always are and we will tell you them in due time. They are worth the wait...a preview if you will:

1) Gastric Bypass and the apron stomach
2) Jump to your death
3) But, I have to pee
4) Strep Throat and other ailments compliments of Mel
5) My feet are broken...again...compliments of Al
6) The saw accident and the mangled hand...yikes!
7) Jumping Rope and how it annoys others...strangely enough.

Stay tuned...
